Departing on Friday 4th April 2025 and returning Sunday 6th April 2025. 2 nights on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis staying in the 4* Holiday Inn Derby Riverlights.
Facilities include a gym and bar with TV screens showing TNT sports. All rooms are en-suite with complimentary toiletries. Rooms have a flat screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is right in the heart of the Derby, around a 15 minute walk to the many bars and restaurants this centre has to offer.
Friday 4th April: after an early departure we aim to reach Derby around lunchtime allowing free time in Derby itself before checking into your rooms and enjoying your evening meal.
Saturday 5th April: after breakfast we will head off to Matlock which was once famed for its hydro and spa treatments. Just a 1.5 miles south is Matlock Bath which is affectionately known as the seaside town of Derbyshire, with classic seaside features such as fish and chip shops, amusement arcades and attractions like Matlock Bath Aquarium and the Heights of Abraham, where you can take a cable car ride to a historic hilltop estate.
After your morning in Matlock we then head to Bakewell. Legend has it that the town’s famous Bakewell Pudding was created by mistake by a local cook in the mid-19th century. Today her delectable ‘jam tart that went wrong’ can be sampled at various bakeries and cafés. We then head back to the hotel for our evening meal
Sunday 6th April: after breakfast we check out and load the coach for our journey home.
